The Last Weeks of This Calendar Year Were Marked by Interesting Discussions and Conversations
Even though the year is coming to an end, we at CANCOM definitely haven’t slowed down. We’ve managed to organize a high school visit, hold our regular company-wide meeting, organize an internal hackathon together with our German colleagues, and still find time for a discussion about our work.
October was bustling with activity in CANCOM. We engaged in sports, donated blood, carved pumpkins, and even managed a company-wide meeting. Good, right?
It may be the holiday season right now, but in CANCOM it’s lively anyway, as we play sport together on a regular basis and we are even engaged with educating the next generation of CANCOMers.
At the moment we have completed the first 4 lessons and we are very happy about the interest in the summer school with micro:bit, because the sooner we awaken children’s interest in IT, the greater the chance that they will decide to study and work in this sector.
The running community in CANCOM Slovakia grows every year, so when the invitation to participate in the Prague Relay came, we didn’t hesitate for a moment.
Halloween blood donation boasts with record participation
At the beginning of this year, we teamed up with AMELIA Slovakia and Syntax Systems Slovakia for a good cause and together we embarked on organizing a year-long blood donation series. The latest round took place at our premises and can boast with a record participation.
We celebrated 4th birthday of CANCOM Slovakia properly and particularly in Bavarian style
So, we are a year older and every birthday comes with a proper celebration. We had ours on the last day of August in the Čičky area at KVP. How was the celebration? Well, it was spectacular and like a proper Bavarian company we celebrated it in Bavarian style.
The CANCOMers rocked the local volleyball scene. You’ve probably already heard that beach volleyball is an essential part of summer in CANCOM. Earlier this month, six enthusiastic teams squared off in a thrilling tournament that kept fans on their toes.
We welcomed the summer with a series of cool events that took place over the last month. Together we enjoyed a nostalgic retro breakfast, an educational Tech Lunch, and a Summer opening party on our terrace.

The first year of the competition for primary schools – Explore the world with Micro:bit was successful
In the premises of our partner IT and bilingual grammar school in Košice, 8 elementary schools from the Košice region met to participate in the first year of the IT competition called Explore the World with Micro:bit.
What would December be without a proper Christmas party. We had three of them and we started the Christmas mood at our office and ended it at our own Christmas markets.
